Originally a small town, Renton’s population quickly grew in the 1940s when Boeing established their Renton Factory during World War II.

After the war, Boeing shifted their manufacturing at the factory to focus on building commercial planes. In fact, today, many recognize Renton as the final assembly point for the Boeing 737 airplane. Additionally, half of Boeing’s main business divisions are headquartered in the city. With 14 other aerospace-related manufacturing, supply, and service companies also in Renton, it’s no secret that the city is an aviation hub.
